Instructions
- Ensure the existing tiled surface is stable and that all tiles are firmly bonded. Remove any loose or damaged tiles and repair voids before starting.
- Thoroughly clean and degrease the entire surface to eliminate dirt, soap residues, wax, or grease. This step is critical to ensure proper adhesion over large areas.
- Lightly sand glossy tiles to create surface roughness and improve mechanical bonding. Remove all sanding dust carefully using a vacuum and clean cloth.
- Apply the bonding primer evenly using a roller over the entire tiled surface. Pay particular attention to grout lines to ensure complete coverage. Allow the primer to dry completely, typically 2 to 4 hours depending on environmental conditions.
- Prepare the fine grain mortar with precise water dosage. The required water proportion is 30 to 35 percent of the powder weight. This corresponds to:
- 3.0 to 3.5 liters of clean water for 10 kg of fine grain mortar.
- 1.5 to 1.75 liters of clean water for 5 kg of mortar.
- 300 to 350 milliliters of clean water for 1 kg of mortar.
Always measure water accurately using a graduated container. Excess water may weaken the mortar, increase shrinkage, and reduce durability. Insufficient water may make application difficult and compromise adhesion.
- For large surfaces, mix mortar in consistent batches to maintain uniform texture and color across the entire area. Strictly maintain the same water-to-powder ratio for each batch.
- Pour the measured clean water into a mixing bucket first. If color is desired, thoroughly mix the selected pigment into the water before adding the mortar powder. This ensures even color distribution across all prepared batches.
- Gradually add the fine grain mortar powder into the water while mixing with a low-speed electric mixer operating at approximately 400 to 600 rpm. Mix for 2 to 3 minutes until a smooth, homogeneous, lump-free paste is achieved.
- Allow the mixture to rest for approximately 1 minute, then remix briefly for 30 seconds before application. Do not add additional water after mixing, as this can negatively affect mechanical strength and color consistency.
- Apply the first coat of fine grain mortar using a stainless steel trowel. Spread a thin, even layer of approximately 1 mm thickness across the tiled surface. Ensure grout lines are completely filled and leveled.
- Work methodically in sections to maintain consistent thickness and avoid visible transitions across large surfaces.
- Allow the first coat to dry for 6 to 8 hours depending on temperature and humidity.
- Once dry, sand lightly using sandpaper with grain 120 to 180 to remove imperfections and improve intercoat adhesion. Remove all dust thoroughly before applying the next layer.
- Prepare a second batch of mortar using exactly the same water ratio of 30 to 35 percent of powder weight to maintain uniform color and structural integrity.
- Apply the second coat in a thin layer of approximately 1 mm thickness. Use controlled and overlapping trowel movements to create a uniform decorative finish across the entire area.
- Allow the second coat to dry completely, typically 12 to 24 hours depending on environmental conditions.
- Sand the fully dried surface with fine sandpaper (grain 180 to 220) to refine the finish and eliminate minor irregularities. Remove all dust carefully.
- Apply the pore filler evenly using a roller to close micro-pores and enhance smoothness and resistance. Allow it to dry for 4 to 6 hours. Light sanding may be required after drying.
- Apply the first coat of microcement varnish using a clean microfiber roller. Work in organized sections to avoid overlaps and visible marks.
- Allow the first varnish coat to dry for 4 to 6 hours. Lightly sand with very fine sandpaper (grain 220 to 320) to promote adhesion between coats. Remove all dust thoroughly.
- Apply a second coat of microcement varnish for full protection. For large surfaces exposed to heavy traffic or moisture, a third coat is recommended to maximize durability.
- Avoid heavy use for at least 24 to 48 hours after the final varnish application. Full mechanical and chemical resistance is typically achieved after 5 to 7 days.
- Clean tools immediately after use with water before the material hardens.
- Store all components tightly sealed in a dry place, protected from extreme temperatures, to preserve product quality and ensure optimal performance for future applications.
