Instructions

  • Ensure the substrate is structurally sound, clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, wax, loose particles, or moisture problems. Repair cracks, fill holes, and stabilize unstable surfaces before starting the application.
  • If applying over tiles, ensure they are firmly bonded. Clean thoroughly and degrease if necessary. It is recommended to lightly sand glossy surfaces to improve adhesion.
  • Apply the bonding primer evenly using a roller or brush. The primer ensures optimal adhesion between the existing substrate and the microcement layers. Allow the primer to dry completely, typically 2 to 4 hours depending on environmental conditions.
  • Prepare the fine grain mortar with precise water dosage. The required water proportion is 30 to 35 percent of the powder weight. This means:
    • For 10 kg of fine grain mortar, add 3.0 to 3.5 liters of clean water.
    • For 5 kg of mortar, add 1.5 to 1.75 liters of clean water.
    • For 1 kg of mortar, add 300 to 350 milliliters of clean water.
      Accurate measurement is essential to ensure proper consistency, adhesion, and final mechanical performance.
  • Always pour the measured water into a clean mixing bucket first. If color is required, mix the selected pigment thoroughly into the water before adding the mortar powder. This guarantees uniform color distribution throughout the mixture.
  • Gradually add the fine grain mortar powder into the pigmented water while mixing with a low-speed electric mixer (400 to 600 rpm). Mix for approximately 2 to 3 minutes until you obtain a smooth, homogeneous, lump-free paste.
  • Allow the mixture to rest for about 1 minute to stabilize. Remix briefly for 30 seconds before application. Do not add extra water after mixing, as this may weaken the mechanical properties and cause color variations.
  • Apply the first coat of fine grain mortar using a stainless steel trowel. Spread a thin, even layer of approximately 1 mm thickness. For floors, ensure uniform distribution to prevent uneven wear. For walls, maintain consistent trowel pressure to achieve a uniform texture.
  • Allow the first coat to dry for 6 to 8 hours depending on temperature and ventilation. Drying time may vary based on humidity levels and substrate absorption.
  • Once dry, sand the surface lightly using sandpaper with grain 120 to 180 to remove irregularities, trowel marks, or slight imperfections. Remove all dust carefully with a vacuum and clean cloth before proceeding.
  • Prepare a second batch of mortar using the exact same water ratio (30 to 35 percent of powder weight). Maintaining consistent water dosage is crucial for color uniformity and structural integrity.
  • Apply the second coat in a thin layer of approximately 1 mm thickness. Use controlled and overlapping trowel movements to create the desired aesthetic effect. Avoid excessive thickness to prevent cracking or prolonged drying times.
  • Allow the second coat to dry completely, typically 12 to 24 hours depending on environmental conditions.
  • Sand the fully dried surface with fine sandpaper (grain 180 to 220) to achieve a smooth and refined finish. Thoroughly remove all dust before continuing.
  • Apply the pore filler evenly using a roller or flexible trowel. This step closes micro-pores, improves surface smoothness, and enhances waterproofing and stain resistance. Allow it to dry for 4 to 6 hours. Light sanding may be required after drying.
  • Apply the first coat of microcement varnish using a clean microfiber roller. Spread evenly without overloading the surface. Avoid puddles or drips.
  • Allow the first varnish coat to dry for 4 to 6 hours. Lightly sand with very fine sandpaper (grain 220 to 320) to ensure proper intercoat adhesion. Remove dust completely.
  • Apply a second coat of microcement varnish to ensure full protection. For floors exposed to heavy traffic, a third coat is recommended to maximize durability and abrasion resistance.
  • Avoid foot traffic on floors for at least 24 to 48 hours after the final varnish application. Full mechanical and chemical resistance is generally achieved after 5 to 7 days. Avoid heavy furniture placement during this curing period.
  • Clean tools immediately after use with water before the material hardens.
  • Store all components in their original, tightly sealed containers in a dry environment protected from extreme temperatures. Proper storage preserves product quality and ensures optimal performance for future use.
