Instructions

  • Ensure the substrate is stable, clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, loose particles, or rising damp. Existing tiles must be firmly bonded. Repair cracks or irregularities before starting the application.
  • Apply the bonding primer evenly using a roller or brush. The primer promotes adhesion between the existing surface and the microcement layers. Allow the primer to dry completely, typically 2 to 4 hours depending on temperature and ventilation.
  • Prepare the fine grain mortar mixture carefully. The recommended water dosage is 30 to 35 percent of the powder weight. This means that for 10 kg of fine grain mortar, you must add between 3.0 and 3.5 liters of clean water. For 5 kg of mortar, add between 1.5 and 1.75 liters of water. Always measure the water accurately using a graduated container to ensure consistent performance and workability.
  • Pour the measured water into a clean mixing bucket first, then gradually add the mortar powder while mixing with a low-speed electric mixer (approximately 400–600 rpm). Mix for 2 to 3 minutes until you obtain a smooth, homogeneous, lump-free paste. Let the mixture rest for 1 minute, then briefly remix before application.
  • Add the selected pigment during the mixing stage if required. The pigment should be incorporated into the mixing water before adding the mortar powder to ensure uniform coloration. Mix thoroughly until the color is completely consistent throughout the mixture.
  • Apply the first coat of fine grain mortar using a stainless steel trowel in a thin, even layer of approximately 1 mm thickness. Spread the material smoothly and avoid excessive buildup. Allow it to dry for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Once dry, lightly sand the surface using fine sandpaper (grain 120–180) to remove imperfections and trowel marks. Remove all dust before applying the second coat.
  • Prepare a fresh batch of mortar using the same water dosage ratio (30–35 percent of powder weight). Consistency in water measurement is essential to maintain uniform texture and color.
  • Apply the second coat in a thin layer, again approximately 1 mm thick. Use smooth, controlled trowel movements to achieve the desired aesthetic effect. Allow to dry completely for 12 to 24 hours depending on conditions.
  • After drying, sand the surface gently with fine sandpaper (grain 180–220) to obtain a smooth finish. Carefully remove all dust using a vacuum and a clean microfiber cloth.
  • Apply the pore filler evenly with a roller or trowel to close micro-pores and improve waterproofing. Allow it to dry according to recommended drying times, usually 4 to 6 hours. Light sanding may be required after drying.
  • Apply the first coat of microcement varnish using a microfiber roller. Spread evenly to avoid drips or pooling. Allow it to dry for 4 to 6 hours.
  • Lightly sand with very fine sandpaper (grain 220–320) between varnish coats to ensure proper adhesion. Remove dust thoroughly.
  • Apply a second coat of microcement varnish for optimal waterproofing and durability. In high-exposure shower areas, a third coat may be applied for maximum protection.
  • Avoid water contact for at least 48 hours after the final varnish application. Full curing and maximum resistance are typically achieved after 5 to 7 days. Avoid heavy use during this period.
  • Clean tools immediately after use with water before the material hardens.
  • Store all components in a dry place, protected from extreme temperatures, and keep containers tightly sealed when not in use to preserve product performance.
